The business problem

Documents contain information a business needs in other systems. Folio explores a review-first workflow for moving that information out of a PDF and into a structured record.

The proposed workflow

  1. Upload a supported document or bring it in from an approved folder.
  2. Extract the agreed fields and show where each value came from.
  3. Review missing or uncertain details alongside the original document.
  4. Confirm the record, then export it to a spreadsheet or connected system.

Connecting the systems

A production version could take documents from a shared folder and export reviewed records through CSV or an API. Supported document types and field rules would be agreed before development.

Keeping people in control

The source document stays available during review. Missing fields are flagged rather than silently filled, and export follows confirmation. Retention and access rules would be set for the business.

What a first pilot could look like

A first pilot would use one document type, a fixed field list, and a representative sample for evaluation.
